How we make things

How the cold forming process works in

TALT

Steel as well, exposed to a strong pressure, behaves as a pizza dough, it’s amazing.
TALT bears this characteristic always in mind and tries to give it the form required always using  just one duty, from tube cutting to tube cutting, avoiding the creation of burrs.
This is what TALT does:we place constraints on a tube to get the shape you need, at the point you need it just like a potter does with his clay.
You tell us what your internal and external constraints are and by working together, we can find out how to reform the tube to produce a piece that suits your needs.

TALT’s production strengths

Because our production is worthwile!

Steel Vs Cast iron

  • more MECHANICAL RESISTANCE

Steel, with equal thickness , is stronger than cast iron

  • more LIGHTNESS

Colding form fittings don’t need high thickness. In contrast, cast iron ones need it, due to their melting technological process. Consequently our fittings need less raw material, lower delivery costs, movement improvement and easier handling for your workers.

  • more GREEN

Compared to steel, the double quantity of energy is consumed to produce malleable cast iron.

Stainless steel Vs Brass

  • higher QUALITY

Stainless steel is seen by the final client as a more valuable material than brass, which is preferred to cast iron

  • less REGULATORY RESTRICTIONS

Brass variants can present big regulatory interdictions, while stainless steel is seen as “more green” and as a consequence there are less restrictions

  • higher DEFORMABILITY

Brass, as cast iron, is little malleable by its nature. There are alloys which are pretty much malleable but they are very expensive and not easy to find, because out of standards

Cold forming Vs macchined from billet

  • no RAW MATERIAL WASTE

In chip machining operations exceeding material is often “thrown away” while in TALT cold deforming , where material is deplaced where needed, there isn’t almost any material waste

  • more LIGHTNESS

With equal mechanical request, TALT production allows lighter items

  • more SPEED

Cold forming takes less than cutting operations, even with materials wich are usually more difficult to deal with ( ex. stainless steel)

  • more CUSTOMISATION

With our production, during forming operation, we can insert logos or messages, without doing it later with a further operation

Rolling Vs Cutting

  • more SPEED

The working time for a rolling thread can be a lot shorter than the time necessary for a cutting thread

  • more MECHANICAL RESISTENCE

A rolling thread is technically stronger than a cutting one because it distorts the steel fibers and doesn’t “cut” them as cutting does.

  • more ECONOMICAL

Rolling is a very precise and quick operation, which allows you to reduce the thickness of the pipe. This means that it is lighter per metre and generally speaking it allows lower raw material costs

  • more SPECIAL

Pipe rolling is a working operation that requires high experience, which can adapt continuously to the mechanical charateristics of the steel
